Our client is a leading Power Generation company in the GCC
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Procurement professional with a strong background in the Power Generation sector to manage the end-to-end procurement of materials and services supporting plant operations, maintenance, and projects, combining hands-on daily procurement execution with managerial oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the complete procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, RFQs/RFPs, tender evaluations, purchase orders, and contract administration.
- Procure MRO, CAPEX, spare parts, equipment, and services for power generation plant operations and maintenance.
- Conduct supplier sourcing, techno-commercial evaluations, and vendor negotiations.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with local and international suppliers.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project teams to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
- Utilize SAP MM, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP Ariba for procurement activities and reporting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while ensuring quality, safety, and operational continuity.
Mandatory Requirements
- 12-15 years of procurement experience within the Power Generation sector is mandatory, with demonstrated managerial/supervisory capability.
- Hands-on experience supporting power plant operations and maintenance (O&M) procurement.
- Strong experience in RFQs, tendering, strategic sourcing, vendor negotiations, and contract management.
- Experience procuring MRO, CAPEX, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and plant equipment.
- Experience with SAP MM, SAP S/4HANA, or SAP Ariba is preferred.
Preferred Industry Background
Candidates must have procurement experience in Power Generation, such as:
- Thermal Power Plants
- Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Plants
- Independent Power Producers (IPPs)
- Utility Companies
- Power & Water/Desalination Plants
- Energy Generation & O&M Organizations
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
