Company Overview

Our client is a professional organization based in Dubai, UAE, seeking to strengthen its Finance team with an experienced Accountant. The role supports accurate financial reporting, UAE regulatory compliance, accounting operations, and informed financial decision-making.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare financial reports, manage day-to-day accounting activities, ensure compliance with UAE regulations, and support financial planning and decision-making. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accounting knowledge, excellent analytical skills, integrity, confidentiality, and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record, verify, and reconcile financial transactions accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities.

  • Manage accounts payable, supplier invoices, payment schedules, vendor reconciliations, and discrepancy resolution.

  • Manage accounts receivable, issue customer invoices, monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on overdue payments, and support collections.

  • Prepare financial statements, management reports, financial analyses, performance reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns in line with UAE Federal Tax Authority requirements and support UAE Corporate Tax compliance.

  • Assist with payroll reconciliation, employee reimbursements, fixed asset registers, depreciation, prepaid expenses, accruals, provisions, and cash flow reporting.

  • Support internal and external audits, maintain proper documentation, ensure adherence to IFRS and company policies, and strengthen internal controls.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline. Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or CA are highly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with UAE-based experience.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE financial regulations, VAT returns, UAE Corporate Tax requirements, and audit support.

Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial statement preparation, general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow management, cost accounting, financial analysis, VAT accounting, Corporate Tax compliance, fixed asset accounting, payroll accounting, internal controls, audit preparation, and month-end/year-end closing.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Sage, QuickBooks, Odoo, Tally, or Zoho Books, and financial reporting tools. Power BI is an advantage.

  • Working conditions: Office-based role in Dubai, UAE, with standard working hours and flexibility during month-end, year-end, audit periods, and statutory filing deadlines. Collaboration with Finance, HR, Procurement, Operations, and external auditors is required.
